The way corporate conduct changes is by holding it accountable in a way that it feels. So what I believe about holding corporations accountable is the harder you can hit them – and usually that’s the only way you can hit them is with dollars – the higher that dollar amount, the more that they’re gonna have to explain it to their shareholders, the more that’s gonna hurt their bottom line, and then they’re gonna change behavior. If the government comes after them with criminal, potential criminal penalties, that’s another club. And so the combination of huge dollars and potential criminal penalties, that really does change corporate behavior. And once a company gets hit one time with a lawsuit, a qui tam lawsuit, it’s very motivating to start complying with the law.
