Generally no. If there’s a conciliation court case and maybe an individual sued you in conciliation court, you may perhaps handle that on your own. But even in that case I’d suggest that you consult with a lawyer before going to court that day. I’ve acted as a conciliation court referee, and they sometimes let lawyers participate, but often times they don’t. But certainly once a case is in district court and beyond a conciliation court phase, you really should have a lawyer representing you.
