So after a number of years of litigation, we’ve reached settlements with the defendants. The defendants have agreed to pay $415,000,000.00, which will be distributed to affected members of the class. The settlement is – it’s a class action so that the settlement needs to go through a settlement-approval processes administered by the court. We are in the process of submitting it to the court. If the court approves the settlement, we will send notice of it to the class. The class will have an opportunity to review the settlement, to object to it, to opt out from the settlement. We think it’s a tremendous deal and should be approved by the court. And if the court were to do that, the $415,000,000.00 after payment of costs and expenses to the lawyers will be distributed to the class. To date we’ve done this case exclusively on a contingent-fee basis. So the settlement is in the process of being approved and we’re cautiously optimistic that the money will soon be distributed to the class.

And I guess also what’s important to us about the case is that I think one of the important things we did is we shined a light on the existence of these practices. And while some might have suspected these things happen, we think we were able to prove it. And the fact that we have been able to prove it, I think will prevent people from doing it again, and I think that has a value more broadly and will continue to have a value in the future.

California antitrust attorney Joseph Saveri explains how the settlement is awaiting approval from the court in the Apple, Google, and other tech giant antitrust litigation.
