It really depends on the situation. If you are asking someone to sign a non-compete that’s going to last for an extended period of time, that’s going to be quite broad, you’re going to need more consideration than if you’re telling somebody, “Well, we don’t want you to cut hair within two miles of the salon that you are working at for the next month.” So, it depends on how broad the non-compete is, how long it’s going to last, and what geography it covers.
