Transactional Matters Not Fully Equipped to Handle

You have to understand as an attorney that you don’t know everything. And you have to understand the limits and the scope of your practice. And if you can at least appreciate that you don’t know everything and you may not be able to do everything for a particular client, I think you, at the end of the day, are better serving your client. If you have people – and we have people in the firm. If there’s a particular situation that I know that I may know a little bit about, but I don’t know as much as I should know and there is somebody else who could be more efficient with the work, who knows it off the top of his or her head, who’s able to take the matter and run with it right away instead of having to get up to speed with a particular matter, that’s more efficient for the client, it’s more financially practical for the client. And I think you’re better serving the client’s interest when you recognize the scope and the limits of your practice.
