Yes. Employees certainly may make comments about their employer on social media. The one caution would be, look at the type of comments that you’re making because if it’s defamatory, if it’s a false statement of fact, your employer can sue you for it. The other thing to be careful of is make sure you’re not disclosing confidential information. We represent several hospitals, and we’ve had employees post confidential information about patients, and that is an absolute taboo under HIPAA and is a big issue. So, certainly you can make comments, you just have to be cautious about the type of comment.
