Some of the most common causes for both partnership and shareholder disputes is a lack of communication amongst the partners. When there’s a lack of communication, it fosters an environment of distrust. And so I think having very clear, established procedures either in the operating agreement or in practice or preferably both from the outset can really head off any issues that come up. I mean no business is perfect you’re going to have disagreements with your partners or shareholders along the way that is inevitable but how you address them in the procedure for handling them is critical. And efficiently and effectively resolving them before they swallow the business or they cause the business to incur expenses that could be avoided by some planning on the front end of the case.
