Under the Minnesota child support guidelines there are three separate categories for parenting time that factor into the guidelines. One is under 10 percent, one is 10-45 percent, and one is 45.1-50 percent. That 45.1-50 percent is considered like 50-50 schedule and so that you pay the least under, if you are the party who makes more money you’re still going to be paying something but you get the biggest discount there for parenting time. The 10-45 percent you also get a discount and for under 10 percent you don’t get any discount from what you would be expected to pay.
