Most lawyers write what are called demand letters, mail them out, they get thrown in the trash barrel, and they never really do anything. I never use a demand letter I use my in-house investigator who’s been with my 20 years and he just happens to be 6′ 3″, 250-pounds, bearded, tattooed, pony-tailed, and a biker. And while he is absolutely working within the law he goes out and carries my demand letters and suggests that you give our law offices a call to discuss the problem. And I like to say nobody has ever thrown Carl into the wastebasket.

For a typical client who wants a demand letter, this is how we do it and we know of no other law firm that does it that way. Nobody nowhere. And again, we never cross the line. We don’t threaten people. We don’t extort people. But you got a big biker in your face saying here’s a brochure, here’s our demand letter, I suggest you call Mr. Slates. It really works.

Los Angeles, CA commercial debt collection attorney Ronald P. Slates talks about his method with his employee who serves demand letters, and why it works so well.
