Minnesota law hasn’t changed a lot recently. We are currently undergoing an increase in the Minnesota estate tax exemptions it’s going up $200,000.00 a year until 2018. So in 2016, the amount a person can transfer at death without Minnesota estate taxes is $1.6 million next year it will be $1.8 and the year following that, it will be $2 million.
