In the Alameda Point case, the citizens really didn’t like the development plan that the developer had come up with and as a result, the city didn’t renew its agreement with the developer. So the citizens of Alameda were not forced to accept a plan that they didn’t like and the city was free to pursue other options for developing this gem of a property, one of the largest undeveloped parcels in the San Francisco Bay area. And the cost of the dispute with the developer was kept to a minimum also saving money for the taxpayer.

San Francisco civil litigation defense attorney David Newdorf discusses how he saved taxpayers money when representing a defendant in commercial litigation.
