Probably the most interesting IP case I’ve had over the years I’ve litigated a number of cases in the copyright and trademark area, copyright infringement, trademark infringement. But probably the most interesting IP dispute I ever had was an early one where I represented then Jesse “The Body” Ventura not Jesse “The Governor” Ventura where he sued the World Wrestling Federation. And we ended up winning a million dollar verdict in that one where his claim was that the company had sold a number of videos, I think if I remember correctly, it was 99 or 100 videos of his appearances and didn’t compensate him for that didn’t pay him royalties for that. The company claimed that he had signed his rights away governor, well then, Jesse “The Body” Ventura disagreed and we put that in front of a federal jury, tried it for three weeks and they came back in our favor. And that one was really hard fought it was taken up to the eighth circuit on appeal and after that a petition for certiorari in the supreme court and the supreme court ultimately denied that and the governor got his royalties.

Minneapolis, MN litigator David Olsen talks about the case he worked on with professional wrestler and former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura.
