So, this wrongful death case was a gentleman is on uh Route 15 in Jefferson and he’s uh in the left lane. It’s a two-lane road um going in one direction.
He’s in the left lane and there’s stores on each side of the road. Stores on the left side, stores on the right side. So, he’s in the left lane and in the right
lane is a an 18-year-old kid who just got her license. She’s got three other kids in the car and they decide to make
a left turn from the right lane to go into the ice cream store. And when they do that, they hit this guy on the
motorcycle. The guy goes flying off the road because he gets hit, thrown off the motorcycle.
He He gets up. He checks himself. He takes his helmet off. Says, “Oh, wow.
I’m alive. I can’t believe it.” Like he’s I didn’t break anything. I’m good.
I’m good. And then all of a sudden he drops.
Another couple who is on their way literally to do uh their wedding rehearsal.
They witness the whole accident. They pull off the side of the road, see what happened with this guy, how he was fine,
he was conscious, he looked okay, and then he’s on the ground. They try to resuscitate him and they can’t do it. Um
and he dies. So, it’s a wrongful death case, and it’s against the young lady.
She’s the driver, but the car is owned by a a very prominent lawyer in Mars County who has a very big insurance
policy. And we’re now dealing with a wrongful death case against an 18-year-old for negligently making a
left turn from the right lane and killing someone. So, that was a very interesting case. Once again though, the
sad thing is the wife and the children who survived, the man on the motorcycle, she lost her husband, the kids are
without a father. So, it’s sad. It settled for a lot of money, but still um you know, not as satisfying.
