I’ve been blessed with great mentors. At University of Michigan Law School, I had a professor Frank Kennedy who was one of the great bankruptcy professors of his time. He was also executive director of the commission that wrote the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978. Then when I went into practice, I was taught in my first many years by Michael Cook, Allen Miller, and Harvey Miller at Weil, Gotshal and Magnes. I also had a lot of exposure to Larry King who was a professor at New York University Law School and of counsel at Wachtell Lipton. And a lot of other practitioners along the way and law professors who I met and helped my practice.
