My philosophy as a lawyer is I’m a problem solver. People that come to me have problems. And I believe that it’s my job to find a solution for them with the least amount of impact on their lives, their livelihood or whatnot. I think there are solutions out there if reasonable heads prevail. Either working with an unrepresented party or working with another attorney, I always think that there’s a middle ground that can be reached that’s gonna help both sides. If, for some reason, there’s just no middle ground, that’s when you have to litigate, that’s when you have to go to court. And if it becomes necessary, it becomes necessary.

But I think that in the society that we live in and as well developed as the laws are and the precedence out there, I think that most cases – as it is in reality, are that most cases do settle, and they should.

Minneapolis Family Law, Real Estate & Estate Planning Attorney John Brandt, talks about his philosophy as a lawyer.
