in 2016 I was elected as the district to
00:07
see director to our State Bar of Texas
00:09
and what that means is that from Navarro
00:12
County down to Leon County and all the
00:15
way to the Louisiana border there are 17
00:17
counties that I represent before our
00:19
State Bar of Texas we have the
00:21
opportunity to meet quarterly and
00:24
discuss the business of our State Bar of
00:26
Texas but in addition to my membership
00:29
as a director I also serve on several
00:32
committees of the State Bar I was on the
00:35
legislative policy committee and this
00:37
year our Texas legislature meets every
00:39
two years and we were under sunset
00:41
review which means every 12 years of
00:44
state agency is reviewed to see if they
00:46
need to continue or not and we were able
00:48
to make it through the Texas legislative
00:50
session so the State Bar will be in
00:52
existence for another 12 years I also
00:55
serve as the adviser to the
00:58
collaborative law section of our State
01:00
Bar of Texas and I’m the alternate
01:02
advisor to the alternative dispute
01:03
resolution of the State Bar of Texas
