I learned many years ago that the Golden Rule was wrong, and that truly what we should all be doing is, do unto others as they want done unto them. So, my approach is, if a client wants us to respond to them by a telephone call, we’ll respond by a telephone call. If they want it by email, they’ll get email. We’re gonna respond and work with a client how they want to be worked with. I’m not gonna put them into my box, or do what I want – what they would want done; I want to do their documents and their plan as they want it done, to fit their family, their life, their situation, their assets.

The trust my clients have in me to make sure that their family will be taken care of. Every time a client hires me it gives me a thrill because someone is trusting me with the most intimate aspects of their life.

So, when I’m not practicing law, I do a number of different things. It’s funny, a friend of mine had recently talked about retirement and he said, “You and I would never have a problem with retirement because we have so many interests.”

So, when I’m not practicing law, I make gourmet pizza in a wood burning pizza oven. I helped to restore a pre-Civil War house. I play racquet sports of all different types. Mostly – today, mostly racquetball, Ping-Pong, and pickle ball. I play poker ever week. I love to travel. I have a grand-baby, two sons and a wonderful wife, and two dogs. I’m also involved in charities. I try to get involved in one or two charities all the time where I’m on the board so I can be giving back to the community.
