The philosophy that should guide any criminal defense lawyer is to recognize and live the reality that you’re not doing this for one client you’re doing this for the process, you’re doing this for the system. And the commitment to the process and the system is much greater than the commitment to any given client because as I said, sometimes it can be a difficult role but commitment, tenacity, faith, and effort are really the guiding principles of being a good criminal lawyer.
