The philosophy that guides my work as a lawyer is excellence and effectiveness. It’s really important to understand the client’s objectives and to do that, you’ve got to listen to your clients and understand how their business works and what they’re actually trying to accomplish. And once you understand that, then you can put your full energy into accomplishing the client’s objectives.

Another necessary part of that is communication and responsiveness. I think it’s essential to be responsive to your clients, to communicate very actively with them, and make sure they understand what you are capable of doing and when it can be done. And to make sure they’re fully informed about what’s happening in their cases and matters, that’s critical.

The most rewarding aspect of my practice is really the relationships that I have developed with clients over the years. Many of my clients have been with me for a long time or I have been with them for a long time and it is a trust relationship. And they have entrusted me with their important legal matters and I take that very seriously and try to accomplish their objectives and work with them to solve problems. And it’s really rewarding on a personal level to have that special trust relationship with clients.
