Traditional Divorce

So to me, when I think of traditional divorce, I think of litigation, which is the common route is you have a lawyer and you still try to settle the case with the other lawyer, but you always kind of have this idea and this eye, looking down the road, that you may end up needing a hearing. You may have to appear before a judge and have a contested hearing. You may stop at several points along the way to try to settle it, one being mediation, but there’s always this focus, this emphasis on getting prepared and potentially having a trial. And so that’s always kind of in the background, weighing on you and on the process. Most cases do settle, but they – most of them settle, I think, in the litigation route. A lot of them settle down at the end, close to the trial.
