There are a lot of pros and cons to the collaborative of the divorce process because it’s generally a new process in New Jersey. I think the pro to it is that it’s a collective process where the clients, the lawyers, and even the possible experts like medical or economic experts are all intending to work together. And the purpose is to work together for one good solution to everybody’s issues. The con or disadvantage to it is that if it doesn’t work right or it’s not a good fit for the couple, you have to start the process over again because everybody that was involved in it is conflicted out. So in that regard, it becomes much more costly and time consuming if it doesn’t work.
