You know there’s a number of different things you can do both from a practical and legal perspective when your claim gets denied. I think the most important thing you can do is keep lines of communication open. Find out why the claim is being denied and the insurance company should provide that to you in writing with specific instructions back to the insurance policy as to why they’re denying the claim. If that is unsuccessful then you should definitely hire a lawyer who has knowledge of and a focused practice in insurance claims. Insurance is very niche, it’s very complicated, I often hear clients say I read my policy and it looks like Greek to me. You want someone who can translate that Greek for you and help you resolve the dispute. So that’s the best way, you know, in those three prongs to try to resolve your claim, adjuster, if you can’t get it resolved try a public adjuster or an attorney who really focuses on this area.
