A non-solicitation agreement is different from a non-compete. A non-solicitation agreement is a contract between an employer and employee whereby the employee says, “Once I leave your employment, I will not hire my coworkers, I will not encourage them to leave your employ, I will not facilitate their leaving your employ.” So, it’s basically an anti-pirating type of an agreement.

Minneapolis employment law attorney Greg Stenmoe explains that non-solicitation involves not soliciting customers from a former employer.
