Usually you can’t deduct the legal fees of the divorce in taxes. They’re generally not deductible, with the exception of tax – or legal fees that have to do with taxes or tax planning. Commonly in a divorce, tax planning is gonna revolve around alimony payments, so that’s really the only exception that I know but it’s something I usually say to use with caution.
