For a lot of folks a simple will, will suffice for their estate-planning purposes. And a simple will denotes a relatively modest fee. For folks whose gross estates are significantly over $1,000,000.00, they might consider more complicated estate-planning processes. There are many options that can be taken. For married couples, often times a certain type of trust may be an efficacious way to minimize or eliminate the taxation that their estates might be exposed to after they both die. It may take some several thousands of dollars to draft up the proper trust instruments, but those trust instruments might save the estate hundreds of thousands of dollars. So if a client or clients are in this realm of estate planning where they have a fair amount they want to protect, it might be a very cost-effective decision to do a little bit more advanced estate planning through a trust.
