The most common estate planning mistakes first is not planning properly or not planning at all. The next would be not updating a plan regularly. I recommend clients review their plan every two or three years or anytime something significant happens like a marriage or a childbirth, divorce or a death. Anything that is significant in one’s life would also be cause to review your estate plan. So even those that do have plans need to revise them often to make sure that they’re up to date with both their properties and also the changes in the law.
