So collaborative is an alternative way to resolve the dispute. To me it’s different from litigation or the traditional route in that you agree up front not to go to court. People sign an agreement and they say, “We’re gonna try to settle the case.” You do it through a series of meetings.

You traditionally have what they call neutral professionals involved and you can have anywhere from two to three meetings on the low end up to probably five or six on the high end, based on my experience, and there is a greater emphasis on trying to settle the case. So you can kind of suspend the idea of going to court. You tend to approach it with a different mindset. I think there’s a different dynamic with all the participants, the lawyers, and the parties, and I think it’s just a good process and a good way to try to resolve things.
