Harassment, coercion, intimidation is a problem in the railroad industry but congress passed a law in 2007-2008 to prevent that. In fact, I guess I’m proud to say I’m one of the people that caused that to occur. I had a worker that was being harassed out in Washington State by the railroad, I complained, nothing happened about it. I let Jim Oberstar, who’s from Minnesota who became chairman of the transportation committee know about that. He then held hearings, invited me to testify in congress, I told congress all of the evidence along with other people and they passed laws, federal laws to protect workers from harassment and intimidation that exist today.

Saint Paul railroad employee injury attorney William Jungbauer discusses railroad company coercion.
