Realistically, claims agents are just like lawyers in that when they communicate they have to establish a trust level. And hopefully, many people are honest both on the railroad side and on the plaintiff side. But I spoke about union corruption, there’s also corruption on the part of some people in claims and some lawyers that represent railroads. But the best way to find out is to ask questions. If a claims person says to an individual don’t talk to a lawyer, the person should say, “Why? Why shouldn’t I get information from both sides?” And the best way to check out a claims person is to say, “What has your railroad paid other people with the same type of injury as me?” That’s the first question. And the second question should be, “Is the railroad blaming me for this accident?” That should be asked always at the beginning because if the railroad is going to blame the individual and if the individual asks the claim agent they have to tell them the truth.
