Well, with the advent of the information available on the internet and word processing, people become their own lawyers. They think, “Well, I’ll grab a piece of this contract from this website and I’ll grab a different piece from that website, and we’ll paste it all together and we’ll have a good contract.” I would not recommend that. That’s really not the way to go about contract drafting.
Contract drafting is a process involving intense communication between the parties that are attempting to enter into an agreement, and it’s the process that’s very important. You end up with a finished product that either party can sue over, but more importantly, hopefully the two parties have communicated with each other so there won’t be any dispute at all.

Minneapolis business litigation attorney George Antrim III explains why it is advantageous for a business to hire a lawyer.
