I would say a business valuation expert is, in most cases, the vast majority of cases. I have had instance where I thought it was pretty evident that the business had no value and the parties believed that and they were comfortable with that decision and they just would agree to have it as a zero value or to value it on book value. But in most cases, you will at least need the expert to take a look at it and say, “Is this worth valuing?” And many business valuation experts are willing to do that.
