I set out on my own in 1993 and set up my own practice after I had been with another firm for 10 years. And since that time, I have been at just two locations down here downtown St. Paul and Susan Johnson joined me maybe five years ago when she finished law school. So I have done criminal defense work my entire life.

She can find a needle in a haystack and I credit her with a number of cases that I was able to get dismissed or finding just what it took to convince the prosecutor that the case wasn’t as strong as they thought it was.

I think we really look to see what is this particular client trying to accomplish? I mean sometimes it’s just a matter of okay, I made a mistake, I did something wrong but I can’t afford to do any jail time, I need to avoid prison what can I do? So those are great things.
