When I served as a judge we had so many cases coming before us that you were always somewhat limited as to how much time you could actually spend on a particular case.  One of the things that I really like about mediation is that you have luxury of being able to spend a lot of time on any given case.  And what I’ve always really enjoyed about my job as a Judge and as a mediator is helping people find a resolution, especially on difficult issues where there are emotional or financial consequences and to help people do that has really been a benefit of the job.
