Whenever I tell someone that I practice employment law the very first question is which side do you represent? And I think that that is the right first question for anyone to ask but I think that people especially in our changing society I think that people are becoming more open to the fact that you don’t necessarily need someone who’s specifically aligned with either side. But what you need is someone who understands both sides. Both sides of the fence are important. There’s a strategy on each side and in order for you to really, truly understand how to beat the strategy of each side you really need to have been and stood in the shoes of each side.

I think that practicing on both sides having represented employers from large companies such as Walmart all the way down to minimum wage earners, I’ve seen it all, and I’ve also been able to understand the strategies from small to large. And in order to really defeat those strategies you really have to anticipate them. If you work for both sides, you know what het next step is and you know what you need to do to beat the other side. So having practiced for both sides I think I’m in a unique position to strongly represent each.

Los Angeles, CA employment lawyer David G. Jones talks about how representing both employers and employees in his practice makes him a better lawyer.
