Well, I’d like to think that my firm is a little more streamlined than other firms, the larger firms that have paralegals and secretaries and have hierarchy and bureaucracy that they have to deal with. I’m a smaller firm which allows me to be meaner and leaner. And I attack cases and do the things that need to get done, and I don’t bill just to bill.

My firm focuses on the areas relating to food law. I represent a lot of different companies either in the organic food industry or in other food industries. Usually smaller startups. I also represent small employers, whether it ranges from staffing companies. I have shipping companies as clients. And also people in the food industry, I’ll help them with contracts, transactional work and employment law.

One of the things about me being small is you’ll get all of my attention. You’ll have my cell phone number. If you need to reach me during the weekends, you can call me on the weekends and I will answer. I’m always there. I like to be very personable with my clients. I like to think of my clients as more than just a number and an invoice. I like to have a personal relationship with my clients.

One thing that I’ve always disagreed with is that business is personal, so that’s the way I address my business.

When you’re looking to hire a trial attorney, you want somebody with experience. You want somebody that presents well; somebody that a normal person would just look to and think that hey, this person is trustworthy and that they would like. But also, you want somebody that is going to be prepared and know the facts and the law inside out and present that in a meaningful way to a judge and to a jury.
