In litigation the amount of divorces or the number or percentage of divorces that actually go to trial is quite small. Now, first off, when you say “go to trial,” many cases will go to a temporary order hearing, and when I say “many,” it’s probably 90 percent of divorces will go to a temporary order hearing, and that is a litigated process where evidence is put on and the judge makes a ruling. But as far as a final trial, at the end of the day probably we’re talking 10 to 20 percent of all cases are the ones that go to trial. Most of them settle and most of them settle through either settlement negotiations or mediation and the temporary orders are often used as a blueprint for that settlement.
