The differences between the federal and state are very significant. In a federal investigation, a federal prosecution first of all, traditionally and it still applies, the main categories of crimes that are being investigated and prosecuted are fraud cases, white collar crimes and significant drug trafficking cases. Of course in the federal system you also have a variety of other types of crimes, such as counterfeiting goods, immigration smuggling, public corruption things like that. On the state side, you have more what of types of cases crimes that you might refer to as street crimes, robbery, assaults, things like that. You do have some white collar cases, but usually the dollar amounts and the scope of them are smaller, much smaller than you find at the federal level.
