When we’ve got a small business involved in a divorce we, again, bring in some financial assistance. It’s always a good idea to get a valuator involved very early in the process and to have the part who is involved with the business make sure that all of their business records are available to be reviewed and inspected. If I’m representing the spouse who’s not the business owner, they’re always concerned about their spouse hiding assets or hiding value inside the business so we make sure through discovery, sometimes depositions, certainly with inventory and appraisements that we find everything that there is to know about that business.
