No. By law, they cannot be raised simply by making a no-fault claim. The determination as to whether or not an individual’s insurance rates go up following a motor vehicle crash is related to whether or not that party is assigned fault for the crash. Because no fault, as the term is used, is made during that first claim against your own insurance company, the rates cannot be raised as a result of that claim.
