Well once paternity is established, a father has a right to ask the court to implement an order that would govern any other parent-child relationship. That would include an award of custody or parenting time, child support obligations would be set forth in there as well. It also allows a child access to the then determined father’s health insurance, inheritance, Social Security benefits if that parent or father is disabled. So really, once paternity is established an order can encompass any other issues that any other parent-child relationship would have.
