Well I think in almost every case having a higher liability limit is gonna be advantageous.  I think, as I’ve mentioned before, that sometimes wealthy people will want to have higher limits.  They’ll have a special, additional reason for that because they’re more likely to be a target to collect excess damages from in serious accident cases, but in order to have protection for you and your family, it’s very easy in an auto accident to go through these minimum required levels of expense.

For example, the $20,000.00 in medical expenses.  If a person breaks their leg, for example, in an auto accident, many times medical expenses, depending on the complicated nature of the injury, could exceed $20,000.00 very quickly  So what happens is people who don’t have enough insurance find themselves under the pressure of heavy debt for medical expenses they weren’t expecting.

In fact, the number one cause of bankruptcies in America is unexpected medical debt.
