Question is what do I first do after an auto accident.  That’s a hard time because we’re not used to that.  So most people are really shaken up by that experience and they don’t always have their wits about them.

So the first thing to be concerned about and this is probably common sense, is if you or someone else in the accident seems to be injured, you need to call for medical attention.  So call 911.

After that you need to notify the police.  The law requires that any serious accident be reported to the police.

After that, you need to cooperate with the police when they arrive on the scene.  Provide information.  You should share insurance information and exchange contact information with the other drives involved if you’re able to do that, of course.

Those would be probably the first steps.
