Public adjusters are advocates for the insured. When there’s a loss the insurance company assigns an adjuster to otherwise perform what’s necessary under the claim to get the insured paid. These adjusters obviously are acting in the best interests of the insurance company. And insured can hire their own adjuster, what’s called a public adjuster, to advocate on their behalf, negotiate the claim in a manner most beneficial to the insured. Public adjusters will work typically on a contingency fee basis, meaning they have an incentive to maximize the claim and get the best result they can for the insured.
