What is a specimen and why is it important? A trademark specimen is a picture of the mark on the good, or packaging for the goods or an example of the mark used in advertising for services. And a specimen is needed if for federal registration at the United States Trademark Office to prove that you are using the mark on the goods or attached with the services.
