Barbara Youngman is one of the founding partners of Youngman Reitshtein, PLC, specializing in various aspects of family law. Her expertise includes handling divorce cases, child and spousal support matters, division of community assets, pre and post-nuptial agreements, as well as domestic violence actions.
With a background as a second-generation lawyer from Brooklyn, New York, Barbara has dedicated over twenty-five years of her career to practicing family law in Beverly Hills, California. Throughout her extensive experience, she has represented clients in family law cases using litigation, mediation, and collaborative divorce approaches.
Apart from her private practice, Barbara has contributed to legal education as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. She also actively volunteers as a mediator at Loyola Law School’s Center for Conflict Resolution and serves as a Daily Settlement Officer within the Family Law Division of the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Barbara spent seven months living in Europe before returning to New York, where she worked in advertising for twelve years. After marrying her husband, they relocated to Beverly Hills, where they started their family. It was during this time that Barbara pursued her legal education and embarked on her journey in the field of family law.
